Saturday night attended the spectacular open air performance of 'West Side Story' in a choreography by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui in Ghent. Next day this lead me to look up the original Officer Krupke filmscoresong on Youtube. Even now, almost 50 years after I first saw it, I can't watch this brilliant hilarious scene without feeling somehow to be part of it. Does this tell something about me or is getting one to identify simply what any meaningful piece of art should do?
